Jewish Community Services in the Concord Area
Chabad of Concord is here to help Jews throughout the Concord area with Jewish life, lifecycle moments, practical needs, and simply having someone Jewish to call.
Chabad of Concord is here for more than classes, services, and holiday celebrations.
Maybe you moved into a new home and need a mezuzah. Someone you love is in the hospital. You're planning a Bar Mitzvah, saying Kaddish, looking for kosher food, or you simply have a Jewish question and aren't sure who to ask.
That's what we're here for.
You don't need to be a member, and you don't need any particular Jewish background. If there's something we can help with, give us a call.
Mezuzah & Tefillin
Need a mezuzah for your home or office? Want to have your mezuzahs checked or need a hand putting one up properly? We can help.
And if you'd like to learn how to put on tefillin - whether it's your first time or it's just been a while - we'll gladly walk you through it.
For help with tefillin, call or text Rabbi Berel at 925-326-1613.
Hospital Visits
If you or a loved one is in the hospital, let us know.
Rabbi Berel serves as a volunteer hospital chaplain and is available to visit Jewish patients, offer prayer and support, and help with Jewish needs that may come up during a hospital stay.
Home & Senior Visits
If someone is homebound, elderly, or simply unable to come to Chabad, we're happy to come to them.
Sometimes a visit, a conversation, a mitzvah, or a little Jewish connection can mean a lot.
Jail Visits & Jewish Chaplaincy
Chabad of Concord provides Jewish visits and chaplaincy support for Jewish individuals in local county correctional facilities when possible.
If you have a family member or know someone who could use a visit or Jewish support, contact Rabbi Berel.
Prayer & Mi Sheberach
Know someone who could use a prayer for healing?
Send us their Hebrew name and their mother's Hebrew name, if known, and we'll be glad to include them in a Mi Sheberach.
Life's Big Moments

Kosher & Jewish Resources
Looking for kosher food, a mikvah, fresh challah for Shabbat, or another Jewish resource in the area?
We've put together a list of local and East Bay resources. And if what you're looking for isn't there, ask us.
Bringing Judaism to You
From our Sukkah Mobile to Shofar Factory and Model Matzah Bakery, we bring hands-on Jewish experiences throughout the community.
Learn One-on-One
Have a Jewish question you've always wanted to ask? A subject you'd like to understand better? Or maybe you'd simply enjoy learning Torah one-on-one?
You can learn privately with Rabbi Berel, at your own pace and around your schedule. No previous background is needed.
Not Sure Who to Ask?
Call us anyway.
If something Jewish comes up in your life - big or small - you don't need to figure it out on your own. If we can help, we will. And if we're not the right person, we'll do our best to point you in the right direction.
Call or text Rabbi Berel at 925-326-1613, or email us.
