Yahrzeit & Kaddish
When someone we love passes away, Judaism gives us ways to remember them and keep doing good in their memory.
A yahrzeit is the anniversary of a person’s passing according to the Jewish calendar.
If you’re not sure of the Hebrew date, the customs, or what you’re supposed to do, call us. We can help.
We can help with
- Finding the correct yahrzeit date
- Understanding the customs of the day
- Kaddish
- Yizkor
- Memorial candles
- Tzedakah in your loved one’s memory
- Torah learning or another mitzvah in their merit
You don’t need to know the Hebrew date or Hebrew name before calling.
We can figure it out together.
Yahrzeit reminders
Sign up once, and we’ll email you before each yahrzeit with that year’s date.
Not sure of the date? Call or text Rabbi Berel at 925-326-1613 and we’ll figure it out together.
Kaddish
If you need to say Kaddish and are not sure where or when, contact us.
We regularly have a minyan on Shabbat morning.
For other times, we’ll do our best to help you figure out the right option.
If you are unable to say Kaddish yourself, speak with Rabbi Berel and we can discuss what may be possible.
Yizkor
Yizkor is recited on:
- Yom Kippur
- Shemini Atzeret
- Last day of Pesach
- Second day of Shavuot
If you would like to attend Yizkor at Chabad of Concord, contact us for the current schedule.
Not sure what to do?
Call or text Rabbi Berel at 925-326-1613.
That’s exactly what we’re here for.
