High Holidays at Chabad of Concord

What should I expect?

If it’s your first time at Chabad—or your first time in a synagogue in a long time—you probably have a few questions.

Here are the answers.

Do I need tickets?

No.

There are no tickets and no charge for High Holiday services.

We do ask people to RSVP in advance so we can prepare and send you the current location and schedule.

Do I need to be a member?

No.

Chabad of Concord does not have membership dues.

You don’t need to join anything before coming.

What if I don’t know Hebrew?

You’ll be fine.

The prayer books have Hebrew and English. Page numbers are announced, and Rabbi Berel explains important parts of the service along the way.

You are not expected to know everything.

Can I bring my children?

Yes.

Children and families are welcome.

We have special children’s prayer books, games, and songs.

The exact program details come out closer to the holiday.

What should I wear?

Whatever you would normally consider respectful for synagogue.

You don’t need to buy anything special.

Kippahs are available for men who need one.

What if I have never been to Chabad?

Then please come.

You won’t be called on or put on the spot.

If you tell us it’s your first time when you RSVP, we’ll know to look out for you.

Where are services held?

In Concord.

Because our location and schedule can change, we send the exact details to people who RSVP.

What if I can’t stay for the whole service?

Come when you can.

If there’s a particular part you don’t want to miss, ask us and we’ll give you the approximate time.

Do I have to donate?

No.

There is no charge to attend.

Chabad of Concord is supported by people in the community who choose to help make Jewish life here possible. If you would like to help, we appreciate it.
